In addition to the producing groves, a Varietal Collection, representing most of the major commercial citrus producing varieties in California, was planted in 1993. The Varietal Collection includes over 100 trees planted through donations from California citrus nurseries, USDA National Clonal Germplasm Repository for Citrus and Dates and University of California, Riverside. The park has the only publicly accessible citrus collection in the west.
 
There is an increasing interest in citrus varieties as our population becomes more ethnically diverse and cosmopolitan. These fruits allow the food industry to meet the demands of the changing domestic and world markets. Some of the fruit should be available at your grocery store or farmers market throughout the year.
 
Please do not pick the fruit from the trees or from the ground inside the state park. Leave it for other visitors to enjoy during park tours or for fruit displays.
